The RAFA Shoreham Airshow is held annually at Shoreham airfield, the oldest licensed airfield in the UK.
Against a background of the imposing Lancing college and the West Sussex countryside, the show usually features plenty of wartime aircraft as well as some current Nato displays and a good variety of solo and team aerobatics.
Expect the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and a good number of Spitfires, Hurricanes and American warbirds but not necessarily the Red Arrows.
There is usually an enactment of some kind, such as a mock air attack followed by a mass scramble and pursuit. On the ground expect a static aircraft display, the usual craft and trade stands as well as fairground rides, amusements for the children and a chance to meet pilots and other celebrities at an autograph enclosure.
In West Sussex, West of Brighton. Look for signposts to the show or to Shoreham airport.
