Bristol International Balloon Fiesta The 36th balloon fiesta, as its name suggests, is principally a gathering for balloon enthusiasts, with 150 hot air balloons and ground attractions including music and a fair. Dakotas over Normandy  The Douglas DC-3/C47 “Dakota” will be one of the highlights of an airshow from 4th - 9th June at the airport of Cherbourg – Maupertus in Normandy, the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings. It is hoped that Dakotas will visit from all over the world and one contingent will gather in Hampshire en route to the show. They will gather on 3rd June and fly out on 4th June from about 10.30a.m. It is all subject to raising sufficient funds. Check their web site. 1st Biggin Hill Festival of Flight Back after an absence of a few years, a different kind of airshow at Biggin Hill. Billed as a family show with a focus on the local community, the 2014 show will feature a display by the Red Arrows, 50 years after their debut display at Biggin Hill. Warbirds are also promised as well as a range of arena events including classic car and military vehicle parades and a motor cycle display team. Tickets will be limited to 15,000. Historic and contemporary aircraft static and flying displays. The first part of the week is for trade and commercial guests. There is some public access to the trade exhibition on 18th. The public part of the Show is at the weekend, 19th - 20th. The public weekend part has been revamped for 2014, with 5½ hours of flying.
